4 Tips for Celebrating Australia Day the Aussie Way
The most patriotic day of the year is fast approaching, and if you’re not keen on battling the crowds at the nearest beach or park, why not visit your local? Despite it being the biggest nationwide public holiday across the country, celebrating Australia Day doesn’t have to be extravagant. Take the day off and relax this January 26th by following our go-to tips to celebrating in style…
Soak up the sun
It’s no doubt that Australia Day isn’t Australia Day without a whole heap of Summer sun. January 26th is the day every patriotic Australian kisses goodbye conventional dress standards and dons their very best singlet, slaps on a bit of Zink, slops on their free The Daily Telegraph bucket hat, and soaks up the one thing that truly sets Australia apart from the rest – our blistering Summer sun. With the largest Beer Garden in Sydney, there are so many opportunities to sit back and soak up the sun at CVI.
Indulge in something fresh
Australia Day is all about catching up with friends, and what better way to do that than over some fresh, tasty pub grub? And yes, it is possible to enjoy seafood without being by the water! Seafood lovers will be impressed with our $20 prawn bucket, plus as always our Specials board will feature delicious market fresh fish dishes to choose from.
Not big on Seafood? Dig into a CVI Classic with our Famous Beef & Guinness Pie or Garlic & Panko Crumbed Chicken Breast Schnitzel. Or if you’re feeling particularly peckish, we’ve got plenty of loaded burgers and premium, juicy steaks to satisfy even the hungriest members of the mob.

Our Cocktail of the Month – THE HURRICANE -, featuring Rum, Triple Sec, Pineapple & Orange Juice, and jam-packed full of fresh lime, is a total crowd favourite and only $9! Keep the kids busy
Don’t think we forgot about the kids! Our two playgrounds will let their imagination run wild, and our complimentary colouring and activity packs (free with every Kids Meal!) will keep them busy when they’re all tuckered out. It won’t last long though – after feasting on our yummy Kids Meals, they’ll be back to running a muck around the playground in no time!
